Unexplained weight gain

WEIGHT GAIN! So I am sitting here hitting my head against a wall and I really need to find answers from those that have been through similar. I am 41 and over the past year I have gained 14kg with no change in lifestyle or diet. I eat a 90% carb and processed free diet! Since the new year I have concentrated on more clean eating and have been exercising 4 time a week with Hypoxi sessions (Cardio with vacuum pressure) and have gained 2kg and not lost any cm in the 7 week's. My doctor just fobs me off as premenopausal but then tells me I am overweight and need to do loose at least 10kg and I have no idea where to start looking into other reasons why i can't shift it! Brisbane based so if you have any advice please help me as my relationship and mental health is suffering. Oh and i don't know if the fact the my boobs have quadrupled means anything to those in or going through similar.

I’d stop the hypoxi, I couldn’t find a single review or answer to if it’s effective that didn’t come from an hypoxi business. That’s usually a red flag, that it’s not all that it’s cracked up to be.
I’d see a registered practicing dietitian and keep a food diary. If that doesn’t work I’d see a different GP for some tests, thyroid etc and go from there.

I’d go to a different GP and ask for blood tests, to see if anything is going on.

I'm in menopause, I'm 49 and went from a size 16 / 18 to a size 7/8 in the last 12 months eating a low carb , no sugar diet and only doing yoga and pilates 20mins a day. I'm 5ft 6. I'm the smallest I have ever been. You could very well be still consuming carbs and sugars somewhere, or your portions are still too big or calories still too high . Recheck everything, keep a food diary.

Go to a better doctor. The first thing mine said was a lot of changes happen in your 40s and ran a blood test to know where to start.

Get complete bloods taken, could be a thyroid issue. I am the same but it’s medication that has caused mine but my Dr always checks my thyroid. Ask for trulicity injections or Ozempic you will lose it. I’ve just started the injections

Those injections have temporary results. Almost all ppl will gain the weight back and more when they come off them

I might get flak for this comment but it's true. I've always been described as petite and only really ever put on weight when I've been pregnant but since the 2nd jab I've put on 10kg and gone up almost 2 cup sizes, my period has reduced a lot this has never happened to me before. Nothing else in my lifestyle had changed at all. I thought the drier was shrinking my clothes all of a sudden, until I weighed myself. I'm not the only woman I know who has had this happen at coincidental timing.
