Post Covid issues

Hi Mums,
I am severely immunocompromised and caught covid in early Jan.
Now mid feb, I still suffer from what feels like a burning chest and cough.
It’s the burn that you feel when you’ve run a marathon and pushed yourself so hard that your lungs burn.
I feel it all day and night, with deep, shallow and all in between breaths.
It hurts. And I’m so anxious about it.
It just doesn’t stop.
Long covid is something that isn’t widely talked about yet and I’m not able to find much info online.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I feel quite alone.
I’m tapped into all my drs but this is a new space and they haven’t got much to add.
I’m a single mum of 3, and life is tough. This ads a layer of complexity that I dont need.

I’m sorry you are going through this. It must be really scary.
When I was diagnosed with a rare condition, I found a Facebook group around that diagnosis that was really helpful. Doctors can be great, but they are learning from there patients at the moment.
See if you can find an online community for sufferers of long Covid.

There is a paed doctor at a public hospital in Brisbane who went to London when Covid first kicked off. She spent time in the Covid wards there learning about it first hand. Sorry I don’t remember her name or hospital but worth finding her as if anyone can inform you or your doctor it’s her.

Are you vaccinated? Do you think possibly it’s from that? The vaccine is causing all sorts of problems for a lot of people.
