Where do you learn how to invest in shares?
We were told years ago by a relative interstate that they recommend we do it as soon as we were able. I would need to go and sit with him for a day to learn about it but he is 1000’s of kms away. We have friends who do it and do very well but they keep their cards pretty close to their chest and to be honest, they’ve been doing it so long they probably don’t remember how they got started or really just don’t want to share. I’ve seen the occasional ad for learning to play the stock market ‘courses’ but they always seem a bit dodgy. It’s something I’ve been interested in for a while and now we are in the position to start small but I simply have no idea where to start at all.
Where is the best place to learn? If you have self managed shares, how did you get into it?

Start with the asx. They have intro courses.
Beware most of the paid courses who want a continuing fee for suggest as they make their money from you.
Get a financial planner, look at a share portfolio with varying risk for different stock and ask about margin geared loans. Have your dividends go back into purchasing. A financial planner will help explain all of this and recommend a good starting investment and which shares etc.
