I've been pn the Depo injection for several yrs. I've put on a it of weight which my Dr says is due to depo and to change to Mirna. I'm 47 and have heard mixed things about Mirna. I don't get a period on depo which I love. I've been reading bout Mirna. Just wondering what you ladies think, opinions or advice as I've doc appointment 17th.

I had the Mirena and didn't like it. Gained heaps of weight, brain fog, tired, sex drive went down a bit. I've only had it out a few weeks and I'm starting to lose weight already and have more energy, sex drive is coming back to where it was. Already had my period back. I'm giving my body a break for a while at least until I've lost the weight. Ask about the mini pill and non hormonal IUD? It may be enough given your age and will be a bit lighter on the side effects. Not sure if you still get a period on it though.
I love my marina. I have implonin witch is in the depo shots. It messed with my bipolar, I ended up with PCOS, and gained so much weight. Now I'm mentally unaffected, and my weight is stable. No periods
I had depo for 15 years went to implanon had 2 now have had marina in a few years.
No dramas with any of them. I have put on weight in my upper arms, was told it was hormonal. I am not as moody on marina as implanon. Unlike the depo I can tell where my cycle should be
