Sleeve, cost and suggestions

My dr has suggested weight loss surgery, specifically a sleeve. I'm just over 100kg and suffer chronic pain, witch prevents me from losing and or maintaining any weight loss.

I dont have insurance, so will have to save, hit my super, and get a personal loan.

I would like suggestion on the mid north coast, the Hunter new England region. How much it come too with out insurance, thats including hospital stay and so on.

I’m pretty sure most places will not perform that procedure without health insurance.
But that’s information I received from 2016.
I say ring a private practice that performs these sorts of procedures and enquire. Goodluck

It really depends on where you are and who you use.
Join a few fb groups and get some information through them.

I had insurance and it cost me $6000 out of pocket because of the surgeon I used. He was the best I found and was very confident in who I chose.
However, I've seen in some fb groups that that there is a surgeon in QLD (I think?) who you only end up being $500 out of pocket - with insurance.

Without insurance, you could be looking anywhere up to $20,000. It is an expensive procedure and it can have side effects which is why they always suggest insurance to make sure you're covered for everything.

I had mine done in Hamilton VIC. Dr Stephen Clifforth. Cost was 12,000 all up. No insurance just paid for it myself. Tummy tuck in April cost $5,000 with same surgeon.

Someone I know just got this done. With no insurance it cost them roughly $22,000 that included everything. They got it through there super and it was super easy. If you get health cover you generally still have to fork out a few thousand.
