First home buyers scheme

Have you successfully been accepted for the first home buyers scheme?
Is it worth it?
Yes I get the only 5% deposit but reading the fine print basically the government acts as guarantor on the loan.
Would love to hear peoples experience with the whole process?
How long did the initial application take ect?
I just feel, its one of those ‘sounds too good to be true’ scenarios
