Payments after PPS

Payments after PPS

Just wondering if anybody knows anything about Centrelink, I work full time and currently receive parent payment and FTB... however my child will turn 8 soon, and Newstart doesn’t exist anymore. I don’t receive any child support ( can’t make contact with father due to his own issues).
Are there other payments that extend after the PPS?
( and yes I know I don’t rely on Centrelink but once PPS is finished that’s a big part of my income, I’m lower income and single).

When your youngest turns 8 you will be automatically transferred to jobseeker payment (new name for Newstart). It’s less than pps, and depends on how much you earn for the fortnight.

If you earn over the annual threshold ( about $16,00 per year) you won't be eligible for JobSeeker support payment. You work full time so it's very likely you will not be eligible as your job will cancel out that payment. But you still may be eligible for a low income health care card, FTB and 'some' rent assistance.

You will only get ftb. Apparently kids cost less as they get older, which is news to me after having 4 of the costly little buggers 😂. I find it funny that someone working fulltime can still get PPS or PPP but bang, kid turns 8 and you don't deserve that anymore. Like you can go and get a second/third job now because your kid is 8 but don't dare leave him home alone for another 4 years and we will close OOSC at like 6pm and only weekdays so squish all your work into those hours you lazy cow.

Totally being sarcastic here please don't take my insults seriously! Just a stab at how society see's the cut off of pps!

Absolutely it’s silly! It costs more as they get older not less! Just worried I won’t be able to cover all my bills without getting a second job
