Healthy eating

I'm trying to shift a few extra kilos. My meals are healthy what I struggle with is finding healthy snacks especially at night. Other then fruit and yoghurt what does everyone snack on? Also I'm totally addicted to coffee flavoured milk, I have cut back a lot but it's my one vice what healthier options can I replace it with? Thanks

Try making your own iced coffee. There is usually a lot of sugar in flavoured milks. So that way you could switch to a lower fat milk and keep the sugar down.

I make my own popcorn and cook it in coconut oil! SO YUM. I also like chocolate covered almonds. Still has a choc fix but you also get a yummy nut fix too. I also like Jarrah fat free hot chocolate.

For me trying to cut things out completely just didn't work. I was addicted to ice cream...literally! I would go through a pack of paddle pops in 1 night (that's 10 in a pack). It was my vice! I tried everything to stop but couldn't. I slowly cut down and now I allow myself 1 ice cream a day. Maybe just allow yourself a cup of coffee favoured milk. Having 1 cup a day is fine. You just need to drink it slowly and enjoy it, then walk away and distract yourself :)

I too had an addiction - to coca cola! It was hard to give up when I loved it so much everyday, but I looked at what it was doing to my health & my happiness & it gave me the strength to say no. Now I don't miss it & I still drink it occasionally. The key is everything in moderation. To lose weight you need to eat your recommended daily calorie intake. Eating too many calories will result in weight gain, & not eating enough will slow your metabolism down & make losing weight harder. I use the app myfitnesspal to keep track of how many calories I eat a day. I have gone from 69 kg down to 65 with this app. Also, eating breakfast everyday is a MUST! I am so much more energised since eating breakfast every morning as it helps your body start for the day. I have rambled on too long. I hope my advice helps if you didn't already know. Good luck!

Put a shaker with normal milk in the freezer for awhile until it starts to freeze, then pull it out, add normal instant coffee and a tablespoon of honey, shake like crazy and welllahhh! Healthy iced coffee! It'll be a little change to get used too, but it's worth it because all those iced coffees are really bad for the waistline! Good luck. :)

If you're trying to lose weight, you shouldn't be snacking on fruit and (flavoured) yogurt because they're full of sugar (whether natural or not) and will hinder your results. Try snacking on protein (greek yogurt, lean meats e.g home made chicken nuggets), nuts (but make sure you decide how many you want, like a handful, walk away and if you're still hungry get something else to eat as nuts are full of fat and again too much can hinder results), veggie sticks, veggie chips (sweet potato work well), homemade popcorn. However I would say if you're snacking often, you're not eating frequently enough during the day. Try having 5 decent sized meals a day including plenty of protein and veggies with each and you'll find you don't feel the need to snack.

Dare iced coffee has over 600 calories in a single bottle. I was drinking one a day when I was at work so only three a week but gained a substantive amount of weight. Make your own and leave in the fridge. Its aloy healthier. Dont eat processed foods, eat fresh food and vegetables instead and eat chicken, fish or turkey for protein.
It doesn't have to be boring, use different herbs and spices to jaz things up a bit and ensure you do at least 30 mins of exercise a day, not all cardio but strength training also ( weights eat fat) small changes can have a drastic effect so start small and then include more.

Good luck! !
