Update - step daughter and puberty

Thank you IM's

I asked a few weeks ago about talking to my sd about puberty. I had some amazing advise and really helpful comments. It's amazing how differently people post when they are anonymous though, some comments were not very nice.

Anyway I just wanted to update you, husband contacted bio mum to ask if she had/ was planning to talk to miss 10 about periods etc

Response - No I haven't, she is she is too young for any of that. I don't appreciate you frightening her.

So, we are just going to have to cop it from mum. I picked out a book, put together a little care package and we casually left it in her room and let her know we are here if she has questions. Turns out, she has asked her mum and mum has told her that she is too young. There we are, she has even asked for new underwear as she doesn't think the pads will fit nicely with the ones she owns.

We did the right thing
Thank you for your support xx

So great to hear you are being proactive and normalising body development to her.

You can get some period undies from Woolies, Bonds or Love Luna or online, Modi Bodi (they have a swimming range also) and they are brilliant. Might be more comfortable to wear to school and more discrete :)

thank you
I did wonder about period underwear, I might try reusable pads at some point for her. I love my modibodis I'm just not sure she will love the idea of them but will talk to her when the time comes. They are a godsend at night time!

Amazing to hear. We just had to have a similar conversation with my sd's bio mum. Thankfully she is just awesome all round and was thankful we'd noticed as well, but was already all over it.
That said, my sd opens up to me more than anyone else around her at the moment, so if she has questions she can ask me and bio is just glad she has someone she reaches out to.

So thankful her mum is amazing. Makes life so much better for our little girl.
