My 10 year old son has been suffering quite badly from "growing pains" for the past 12 months to the point now it's affecting his daily life and struggles to walk particularly in the morning and is in quite a bit of discomfort. He has had xrays and MRI and that's what the doctors have diagnosed. He has been having some treatment and I've been given him regular massages and using magnesium to try and provide some relief but nothing seems to be helping much. Just wondering what other therapies people have tried that may give him some relief. Thanks

I would seek a second opinion. 12 months is a long time.
Have you taken him to a physio or Osteo?
That’s where I’d start
A relative of mine went through this, after years of being palmed off as growing pains she was finally diagnosed with mild cerebral palsy.
I'm not saying this is the case in your situation but I'd definitely be seeking a second and even third opinion if it's affecting his mobility.
I would get another opinion. My daughter did have pains and dr suggested calcium supplements daily. She doesn’t have them anymore.
Get a referral for a rheumatologist and push for further testing. It shouldn’t go on this long.
Please get a referral for a rheumatologist. Hopefully it is just growing pains but the ‘particularly in the morning’ part rings an alarm bell for me as a life long rheumatoid arthritis sufferer.
