My son has just turned 7 and is still wetting the bed every night, up to twice a night. When he wakes if he's leaked out his pull-up he still goes to the toilet and does a big wee also.
We have tried waking him twice nightly. This isn't great for anyone. And he can still even wet inbetween.
We have tried taking the pull-ups off him. He was waking once- twice nightly wet. (we are currently living in our caravan travelling Australia so we don't have access to alot of water for our washing machine- so this is why we put him back into pull-ups) he is now leaking through them. We currently use Huggies dry nites. Which were fine at first because they didn't leak and others did. Money is tight so can't go purchasing big ticket items for alarms etc. Plus don't want to wake other children sleeping in bunks above him.
He is a deep sleeper. I feel we are at a loss as my other two kids never had a problem.
I feel so sorry for him because he genuinely gets upset and wants to wear undies to bed like a big boy and he said he doesn't feel it coming out. We explain its not his fault and ensure his self esteem stays in tact. I know he's only 7 and hoping he will grow out of it but really would love to help him and save us some sleep and $ at the same time. ;)
Any help/advice is appreciated :)

If he’s never not wet the bed it’s likely he is missing the hormone required to be dry at night. For some kids that comes a lot later than other and some people do need medication.
Some things you can do in the meantime is to look for some second hand bed pads or brolly sheets. There are disposable ones that stick to the bed that can be bought in major shops. They are similar to puppy training pads, which you could use if you can’t find the human kind (I would make sure he doesn’t see the packet though).
I would make an appointment with a GP to make sure you’ve ruled out any underlying conditions and discuss when it’s appropriate to try medication.
