Help with administering eye drops to son

Hi , I’m just wanting some help or tips even , trying to give my 8 year old son eye drops and it’s not happening very well . Any suggestions on how to make it easier on him and on me . I’ve tried putting the drop in the corner of his eye and letting it run in to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

If it’s for conjunctivitis ask for the cream rather than the drops. It’s much easier to get in.

I was about to suggest the cream too. Laying down and tell him to keep his eyes closed, it can make vision blurry for a few minutes so to stop him possibly panicking use an eye mask for 5 minutes with a story.

Drops are actually easier than cream lay him down and tell him to close his eyes. Drop into the corner (near nose) of eyes whilst closed. Tell him to blink 3 times. Drops will disperse over eyes the same as if dropped in an open eye

Lay them on their back with their eyes closed. Put the drops in th inner corner, and have them blink a few times. This is how I do my own and kids

I struggle massively to use eyedrops. I can't get an eye exam, or have anyone go near my eye. It is a massive struggle for me to have anyone near my eyes.
I know he's young, but can he do it himself? if I close my eyes and drop the drops in the corner near my nose, I find that they get into my eyes. I can't let anyone do it to me. Not even a doctor.
