Im wanting to look into full custody of my daughter (6) but no idea where to start
My ex husband and I split just over a year ago it was a 6 year relationship that was very toxic (DV)
Police issued an AVO which is in place for 2 years, it protects myself and 2 children (my eldest is from a previous relationship)
Even since we split up hes made numerous threats to my kids and family, he's very unstable and needs serious help but always refuses it and decides drugs are a better option, but don't want to get into all of that to much
I don't want any judgement please I just need some help/guidance on where to start and how the process works
Thank you xx

Full custody is so hard to get. Even the worst parents are legally allowed input and time with their kids, even if its supervised.
To help solidfy his danger toward the kids though , keep everything that he has threatened to do to the kids, if he actually has done that.
There is no such thing as full custody. You could apply for 100% residential care. Which means they live with you but he is their father and will always have the right to have contact and visitation with his children. It may be supervised by a family member, at a visitation centre or not supervised at all. It will depend on the judge
