Home loans

Hi peoples.
House hunting and I’m need of a good bank or broker! Husband and my income is $2100 a week Combined. I’ve owned my own home and no longer have it for collateral. This will be our first home together. His first home my second so first home buyers already out the window. We have a 15-20k deposit and 2 dependants. Where can I go to start seeking info as to weather we’d get a loan and how much for?
Thank you all, I’m so mind boggled I have no idea where to start. We are in north QLD aswell

We are SEQLD. Aussie got us our home loan, right at the start of the GFC and with an unconventional build.

Have you tried googling home loan calculators? You put the basic info in, your income, debts, deposit etc and they will give you a good idea of what you would be able to borrow in today's market.

What is it after tax?? For people on almost 110 k a year you should be able to get a decent loan amount. The question is are you going to live within your means, below your means and get ahead or live a champagne life on a beer budget??

All questions you want to answer before you get yourself a home loan or even see a broker. I wouldn’t be going in trying to get the max I’d have a look at houses I’m sure there calculators on line you can use for basic information and then go see a broker and talk to them about what you are after not be talked into what they can profit from.

I’d rather have a comfortable life with the ability to pay for everything and have savings to do things I want like holidays without busting my butt and crying poor on that joint income.

To me 110 k coming into a household in a year is rich (not according to sco mo though) But according to some they can’t save on that or buy a house and I’m genuinely concerned that they’re complaining about that sort of income. But I did grow up in a low income family and learnt to be frugal as.
