Hi Ladies and Gents,
Can someone offer suggestions please as I am stuck in a predicament where I am wanting to Move to the Sydney Area and finding it hard to gain a rental as do not have employment locally yet as have been applying for months only to continually get knock backs because I do not yet live in the Sydney Area.. Has anyone else come across this and how did you make the make the move? I would love any advice possible please

Sydney is expensive (in every way) and the rental market can be very tight for example an open inspection for a rental property can have 40 people through easily. Then often, it's the first person to get applications in with a deposit. You also have to prove your income is three times the current rent. You absolutely want to have a job before moving there. I have moved to Sydney and it's the only way I would do it. It's not a place you want to be struggling on unemployment. So unless you have friends or family prepared to put you up I would hold off until you get a job.
I had exactly this problem, moved & house shared with a friend & got lots more interviews but still no job, but got a rental within the irst three applications. Maybe try granny flats, short term rentals, friends, houseshares or caravan parks. If youre dead set then you will have more success in both by being here first, as hard as that is practically!!
