Hi Ladies, I’m just wondering if anyone has had an endometrial ablation done while you we on your period? I’m booked in to have one done tomorrow and, with my period never being regular, it came for a visit 3 days before my procedure. It will still be extremely heavy. Has anyone been turned away because they had their period on the day, or has everyone been lucky enough to not be bleeding?

Happens a lot. Don’t worry about it. They are well used to blood, period blood in general. Just make sure you are using pads instead of tampons or cup.
It’s ok to be on your period during an ablation. They’re often done to stop dysfunctional bleeding which can show up at any time.
Please keep us posted how you went, I’m hoping to get one done also
So I had my ablation done yesterday. All went well. I went in with my period and came out without it. That was great. I was in quite a lot of pain yesterday and last night, but it’s definitely eased a lot today. It’s only been a day since I had it done, so no idea if it has been successful yet or not. I’ll just have to wait and see what my next period is like.

Yes I asked the same question before I had mine this year. I had just finished my last heavy day the day before my procedure. I’ve been lucky enough to not have my period at all since.
