Hey IM’s how do you deal with severe IBS cramping?
Normally my IBS is mild and not a big problem but at the moment I am having a severe burst and in tears from one bite of food or even a sip of water.
I’m seeing a dr tomorrow but any tips on helping with the pain and cramping?
Every few minutes I’m hit with a cramp that has me doubled over in pain and this can go for hours before I need to go to the toilet which relieves it but as soon as I eat or drink anything it starts again
It’s not food related as I’ve done all the elimination diets etc. Mine has always been stress triggered which doesn’t make sense because I’m not under stress at the moment

My IBS is hormonal, anxiety and food triggered (yay me lol).
Imodium can help relive the gas, bloating and diarrhea. Neurofen or an anti inflammatory to take away the pain and inflammation. And I swear by Ethical Nutrients IBS support probiotic, if I forget to take them for a few days, I pay for it.
Of course please check with your pharmacist first before starting any of the above.
Fingers crossed you get some relief, I know how shitty IBS flare ups can be (pun not intended lol).
I get random bowel spasms, they are agony. My stomach swells up like I'm 6 months pregnant and I can't even walk. Buscopam helps me when this happens. You can get it over the counter.
