I think your best bet is to contact a DV service in your area. They have access to resources etc and will be able to tell you what is available. You can rent houses interstate through a consultant (they look for a suitable house for you) but you'd need to have your financials in place which might complicate things, otherwise a family member could do the same. Personally I'd accept a caravan if I had to.
