How to enjoy being single

I have recently become a single mum after a few horrible relationships. Im just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to enjoy being single and how to stop obsessing about future relationships?

The thing I miss about being a single parent was how spontaneous I could be. On my days off I would go on road trips to other towns, go to the movies, out to dinner. Now I'm repartnered we still do all that but it has to be planned around 2 jobs, 2 schools, sports. Just make the most of being the only adult in the family and getting to make all the decisions yourself!

Find something you enjoy doing just for you, and do it regularly - getting a haircut, a craft or other hobby, etc. Make time for you every day, even if it’s just 5 or 10 minutes to have an uninterrupted shower or read a chapter in a book - depending on the age of your kids set an alarm and tell them they’re not to talk to you until the alarm goes off, or wait till they’re in bed.

Time- over time you will start to love your own space and freedom. It’s so good it’s addictive! Do things you want, eat where you want , see friends , have hobbies and parent your child in your own way.
No one “needs” a partner so try to see how amazing being single is and if a partner happens then great but it’s definitely not important compared to loving your child, yourself and building a life you love
