Looking for gift ideas / Meaningful pressie for a lovely mummy friend who is having her 2nd bub under general anaesthetic. Her first bub was also born under ga so she's really struggling with missing the birth of both her kids. I know nothing I can do / say will make it okay but just after something to brighten her spirits.
No negative comments or "she should just be happy her bub is safe/healthy"

Depending on the hospital and the staff there, it might be possible to hand the nurse a camera! Make sure its the nurse that is going to be on theatre and will receive bub once bub is born! To do this hubby came to pre-op as far as they would allow and when the gowned up nurse came to introduce herself, 2 mins before going into theatre he handed them to her and they spoke quickly! Or maybe a clean cotton wrap for bub to be wrapped in straight away and hand this to the same nurse! They may have sterilisation proceedures they have to meet but I did this with my two elective csections! The nurse was wonderful and took about 30 pics of bub straight from the womb! Not of the surgery, just of bub being held by the doctor, cutting the cord, passing to the nurse, etc etc!. Once bub was rubbed down and dressed, they also wrapped them in the wrap I gave them! Most staff these days are understanding and try to accommodate within reason! So my first hold was in my wrap! Its worth a try! xx
