Do I need to lodge a tax return?
I have solely been on Centrelink this year.
Family tax a &b also single parent. I'm receiving the extra $550fn coronavirus payment also. My payment summary is over the $18200 threshold... Does that mean I do lodge a return, even though I've only received government benifits? I'm soooo very confused with it all! I've tried Google and some pages say yes, some say no... Really don't want to be on the phone at this time of year but will if I have too!!!

Check out this link, it will take you through a series of questions to determine if you need to or not. If you do need to, you can easily do it online if you’ve linked ato to your myGov account.

From what I've heard the supplement is taxable, so probably.
I always do it anyway. It’s really easy to do via the ato on myGov and most things are prefilled
Yes you do. Jobseeker is taxable, FTB is not. If you are over the threshold and have not had tax taken out of your jobseeker payment you will end up with a debt. 😟
I'm not on a jobseeker payment, just pension and family tax.
The additional 550 corona supplement your getting with your pension payment is tax deductible. So, unless you have elected for Centrelink to deduct tax from your fortnightly payments, you will be required to pay tax on those payments, being you will be classed as a low income earner it will be minimal.
Single parenting payment is taxable and so is the corona virus supliment. It will be pre filed in for tax lodgement already. I would suggest taking some extra tax out, so no debt for financial year coming.
You lodge, with a non lodgement, lodgement. If that makes sense. Thats how ive always done mine if its under the annual threshold
She’s not under the threshold and SPP is taxable.
Yes.
