Do I keep pushing for a biopsy

Im 35 and no family history of Breast cancer

I've have had multiple ultrasounds and mammograms over the past 2 yrs .. Each time 1 or multiple Lymph nodes have been present and have always enlarged in size on each scan Anyway I asked for a biopsy to be done ( that's what my apppointment was booked for ) and they said I didn't need one and that all is good but I've heard horror stories and seen first hand that this can be disastrous .
I have a young child so I do worry

I guess my question is do I keep pushing for the biopsy if yes who is the best person I should be annoying to make this happen
OR do i just trust the system

I'd say follow your instinct. Its your health and you have a right to request any test you like to put your mind at ease. Explain this to your doctors too.

Look, I'm not one who normally says "Don't trust the doctors, etc etc" but I would keep pushing. Not because there's necessarily anything to worry about (I hope there isn't x) but because you can't get past it without the biopsy. If you feel it needs to be done then keep pushing.

This is absolutely not meant to scare you as it happened many, many years ago, but my MIL was put off by several doctors regarding her breast lumps, almost to the point that she was told she was crazy and to stop worrying. She pushed and it turned out she was right. She did have cancer. She also still ended up catching it early enough that the treatment was very successful and she was cancer-free till she passed away 15 years later (unrelated). My point is, push for it. It's probably fine but having a definite answer helps.

Lymphnodes are extremely common in the armpit area on breast scans. We could have a virus we don’t know about and they come up!

You know your body best, get it looked at if you are worried.. I'm under 50, young kids, have no family history of breast cancer, no risk factors. Many breast lumps turn out not to be cancer, but it's best to put your mind at rest.

When I was doing a self exam a few months ago, I found a little lump that wasn't there the previous month. Went to see my GP, had a mammogram & ultrasound as well as a biopsy that week - they ended up finding multiple tumours, not just the one I found. Biopsy results showed cancer, saw a surgeon the day after, had some more tests, then was getting wheeled in for surgery 3 weeks after seeing my GP. Thank goodness it was caught early and got clear margins & no lymph nodes involved.

I'm so glad I got it looked at, I hope you get good news xx
