When I was in FC which was a while ago now, they didn’t care about character references. If I was worried about my kids (and I was) I was told to take it up with relevant departments. So I had child safety issues (kids being abused and witnesses to abuse) told to take it up with child safety. I had DV issues (told to take it up with police and get a DV order - only had a temp order). Drug issues (child safety). Didn’t seem to matter to courts he was an all round bad guys nor the people that witnessed or knew about it. It all needed to be taken up with different government departments.
