COVID 19 Navigating C.Link help. Not sure where else to ask

Firstly I am going to call them. But since i am a little behind in the know. Am hoping someone might be able to save me a little time and stress if I understand the best thing to do.

Single mum (3 children).. who was previously working.. but was on 18 weeks govt maternity leave...which finishes this week. Casual employee so not eligable for 12 months paid leave.

I have been stood down with zero work, formal lettee as proof..my child care centre conveniently was permanently shut down not covid 19 related , we live in a small rural town and their is an extensive wait list for child care anywhere else, no family so that puts me in a pickle.

Children's father has passed away..

I recieve careers support for child with medical difficulties, am limited to 25 hours work per week.

I don't know what my entitlements are and how job keeper and job seeker work..or even the difference between the two?

If I get job keeper I declare that as income yes and other benefits stop is that correct?

Do you mean carers payment? Or carers allowance? As that makes a difference

Jobseeker is just the new name for Newstart payment but as you have a baby you wouldn’t normally go on that you’d normally be on parenting payment single. BUT if you he carers payment then that is the payment you’d receive instead of parenting payment single. If you receive carers allowance then you aren’t limited to working 25 hours and you can receive parenting payment.

Job keeper is a temporary payment to keep people employed (the gov reimburses your employer and the employer pays you), so you should speak to your employer about if they applied for that. But you’d be expected to do some work for your employer then and since you don’t have childcare, that probably isn’t the best fit.
