Hi Mums. I am seeking recommendations for a Paediatric Psychiatrist for my 7 year old son. We have been seeking help for 12 months now, with no outcome. He has major social and emotional issues and refuses to go to school. My GP will refer me to a Psychiatrist of my choice but I don't know who to choose. Please help

Your area will probably help people giving suggestions, also see if you even have a choice as my understanding is they are actually hard to come by. My son had to see one 4 years ago, we live in WA and we didn't even have one in the state, someone flew from Adelaide 4 times a year.
Never mind, in the heading I must be blind. Hopefully there's more than what there was 4 years ago!
Dr Johana Stefan is the only Paediatric Psychiatrist in Perth
And she's not taking new patients 😔
My son had issues similar, I discovered once he started school that he had selective mutism, it was only mild but enough to affect him. Child psych was fantastic.
