Toilet issues

I need help with my 7 yr old son. Last he was constipated and he kept soiling himself, it took ages to get him diagnosed and he became better, now for the last two weeks he has been lazy and not going to the toilet he will do it in his pants then grab it with his hands and leave on the floor, I have caught leaving it in the lounge room, his brothers room and the mama’s lounge, I have taken screens away from him he did use it much anyway, I have told him it’s disgusting and he needs the toilet, I’m not sure why else I can do

You need to see a paed. This is not normal 7yo behaviour....

What has he said when you’ve asked him why he’s not going to the toilet?

You have to work out whether it’s medical or behavioural. Our sons soiling at 4 was behavioural and it was suggested by his OT to have him clean it (with supervision and help of course at that age). He only had to clean it twice before it stopped. I’m not sure if that would work for your son though considering he seems happy enough to touch it 😥

Don’t get angry at him. Something else is going on and he needs to see a dr and get a referal. Poor kid he may have some issues that you are aware of. don’t be hard on him though, it could be medical and he would have no idea why he is doing it.

Get a referral to a pedestrian so you can get same sort of answers as to why. My son is 12 and has bowl Issues. He just doesn't get the signal that he needs to go and ends up soiling himself. We have to give him laxatives daily to stop him getting backed up.

My daughter went through something similar until she was diagnosed by a specialist. It was called encopoesis. It’s really not the child’s fault and it takes A LOT sometimes months to get back on track of it. Just have a look around on Dr Google to find some answers.
