How do you deal with someone that doesn’t give a shit? I broke up with my partner when my son was 1. Lived away from him for 2 years and decided to give it another go. One year in, and he hasn’t changed one bit, and am thinking he won’t. Do I want to continue doing this? He talks about himself constantly and what he is doing.Never, ever does he have any interest in me at all. Never asks me how I’m doing, after I’ve told him I’m not coping. I dont think he does it on purpose, he has a good heart but he is stupid. I feel like it’s my son and I together and him just living the single life. I don’t mean he goes out any party’s or anything, but his stuff is more important than anyone else’s. He doesn’t understand that things change when you have a child. My son should come first, not the lawns. He has to always have time to do his own stuff, but I don’t get any time. I feel like I’m just his mother. Can I keep going like this? I’ve tried to talk to him about stuff but he doesn’t get it. He has absolutely no clue. I feel alone and miserable. ☹️

You stop wasting time and energy (it takes so much energy) on the bloke and you go build the life you want separately.
I’d leave bugger living like that. You would be much happier on your own. You can do it alone xx.

Why would you want to just learn to 'cope' with a miserable relationship when you could be out there thriving and loving life?

A few mean are just stupid (sure same goes for women). They don't get it and never will. I don't know that they do it intentionally either! Can you live the rest of your life with him, if not, go!
Sounds like he might have Aspergers. Pretty sure my husband that I recently left does. No amount of talking sinks in! Felt like you were talking to a brick wall. Best to get out while you can. Sadly some people are just stupid!
