I have horrible anxiety. Mostly about work. I have a great life family and husband. However I still have horrible anxiety. I can’t help but think I’m going to loose my job for small mistakes. Yet I have never been in trouble before. I’m just wandering what treatment options there are. I tried a gp she sent me to a psyc but she wasn’t much help as there is no real reason for my anxiety. No trauma or horrible things in my life. Had anyone tried medication before. If so what were the side effects?

Honestly I’d find a new psych. There are plenty of ways they can help without trauma therapy. CBT, and other exercises such as mindfulness can be hugely helpful.
Psych and medication if needed. Try a different psych. The reason really isn't important- the strategies in overcoming those thoughts and physical responses is what's needed and that's what psych does. In some cases, medication can just reset your body, or in other cases it works to give you a break so you can learn the strategies. Get a new psych!
I've finally found the right medication for me - I'm now on Cymbalta after trying a few different things. I can honestly say that it hasn't taken my anxiety away completely but I can function much better and the intrusive thoughts don't intrude as much. I'm still finding out a lot about my condition and I don't have trauma (as such) or hurt in my past either. Please know that just because you don't have an event that triggered your anxiety or a concrete reason for it, your anxiety is not less valid, nor do you deserve any less than the best treatment. Keep trying xxx
CBT is more effective for anxiety than medication. Most anxiety is not related to trauma etc. It's why GAD is such a common diagnosis. Find another psych. Meds might assist but they aren't the full picture
