Not seeking medical advice just not sure if this is normal or not. I have a 2yo and when she is woken or wakes suddenly her body shakes for a few minutes. As I said I'm not sure if it is normal or if something is wrong but if she wakes well rested it doesn't happen. If anyone else's little ones have done this id like to know your experiences.

My little girl does similiar. But I have also noticed she can do it with fine and gross motor skills. But not always. The Ped has us trying her in an iron supplement as her iron came up low in a blood test everything else was normal. Low but not anaemic.
It is such a worry. I’m concerned it’s more stress/anxiety related.
My youngest used to do this.
Unless she woke naturally, she would be skaky/make jerky motions for a brief period. Particularly the first 30 seconds while she was still kinda confused and dazed, it was like some kind of startle reflex actually. Once she woke up properly and got her bearings back, she'd be back to normal.
If it's more like uncontrollable, entire body shivering and she seems sort of vacant (like the lights are on but no body's home) I'd be getting some medical advice to check for/rule out epilepsy, seizure activity or other neurological issues.
Probably wouldn't hurt to seek medical attention anyway, just to put your mind at ease.
My lo does this, when I asked the dr he said as only as it’s only when she wakes it’s fine. Seizures are generally more sporadic, not just when one particular thing happens
It’s normal. My kids did this when they were younger. Nothing to worry about. I had an ambulance out one night because I thought my son was having a seizure but he had a virus and was shaking when he woke up so it looked worse than it was luckily.
I do this as an adult. Usually if I’m startled by a sound or have a bad dream.
I feel so shaken up and it can take me a few minutes to wake up fully. It also makes me quite dizzy. It’s much worse if I have low iron.
