For the past couple of years I have been struggling to control my weight due to various medical issues which are now managed. I have already started the journey to change food habits and have stepped up my excercise with the help from a pt. I have decieded it may be best I look into weight loss surgery as an extra tool to aid me along my journey. I was leaning towards endoscopic sleeve gastriplasty which is a non invasive (this procedure has no cutting or removing of the stomach like the standard sleeve), day procedure. I'm finding the people closest to me do not want me to go down this path and as a result I'm now feeling conflicted and alone and worry the little support may impact my mindset after surgery. Has anyone been through something similar?

5 , yes 5 of my friends and family members in the last two years had the sleeve done. All recovered well and quickly and all have lost shit loads of weight . Go for it. Its your body , your health . Theres also risks in everything which is why they are probably worried, but the risks with sleeve procedures are relatively small .
I have had 3 family members who had the sleeve. 1 had regained 40kgs another 60kgs and one has 15kg but has also hat 2 pregnancies and her second is only 1. So no more gain than most of us.
In the first place they had dramatic amounts of weight too loose. One 100kg, one 80kgs and the other 40kgs.
They had the procedure in 2012
To be clear, a sleeve is invasive.
OP here
A gastric sleeve is invasive however an endoscopic sleeve is not. To be clear , an ESG is conducted via the mouth and the stomach is sewn with stitches instead of removed. There is no cutting. I would appreciate if people like you would research before throwing stones.
