Hi ladies, It’s a bit embarrassing for me but I need some help or tips. I have bo.
I shower every night. A few times during the week I will shower twice - in the morning and night. VERY Rarely happens but sometimes I will skip night time because things had to be done, it’s late and baby waking multiple times as I step in the shower.
I find I don’t smell AS much if my hair is shaved or short. So I’m trying to keep this up.
I try to use/buy soap with no palm oil and as natural ingredients as I can. In saying that I am currently using dettol with a louf at the moment.
I am buying and want to continue using deodorants that don’t contain aluminium in it and have been using myaurai. Have also used moo goo and so simple. I do reapply but maybe too late as I am already a bit smelly and it’s usually within an hour or so.
Sheets and towels get changed weekly. My washing machine is never over loaded.
My diet could be better but it’s not the worst and I drink a fair bit of water.
I drink milk and have can of soft drink a day.
I still breastfeed and I have the implanon.
I live remote in Queensland with high humidity in summer so sweating can be in abundance.
I am booked into the doctors in a few weeks as I want to know if it’s environmental , hormonal or something else. Just seeing if anyone else has the same problem or any solutions that have worked for them. Thanks

I just thought it's because it's so hot. If you can't shower you'd need proper strength deodorant like rexona.
Deodorants without aluminium aren’t good at stopping smells,
And also the smell comes from the bacteria that eats the sweat
Such a bummer !
I will google a bit more into the bacteria. I remember reading about it vaguely a while ago when I was looking for answers. From memory I think it’s something to do with producing protein ?
Use normal deodorant, like the 24-48hr lasting ones. There are also clinical strength ones available which u should give a go. None of that natural type ones are going to be any good esp in humid qld. Good luck!
The temptation is to go back to normal deodorants.
I’m just starting to a bit more aware of what ingredients we are putting through our bodies. A friend has been linked to have breast cancer from using antiperspirant deodorants.
I can't shower at night, well i mean i do but my night showers are purely for enjoyment's sake. I'm a hot sleeper, even in the dead of winter i wake up smelling/feeling not so fresh and my skin and hair feels greasy so i have to shower in the morning otherwise i smell like a swamp by the end of the day. So even if it's literally a 1 minute shower to give everything a quick scrub, it's gotta be done for me.
I have also found natural deodorants ineffective, tbh I've actually found them make me smell worse than of I'd used nothing. So it came down to choice for me - be chemically aware or stink. I chose to start using Mitchum Clinical.
I also cannot re wear clothing (jeans and heavy winter jackets being an exception) and I'm conscious to wear only breathable fabrics like cotton, sometimes i even have to change my top if it's particularly hot. An enzime killing washing detergent and/or some Canesten anti fungal laundry disinfectant may help you too.
I know the feeling of just a minute shower to freshen up! I’m the same Witt brushing my teeth. I brush twice a day but also if I go out as well.
I have found that the natural deodorants have been making me smell worse as well. The temptation is there to go back to original deodorants.
I will definitely try laundry disinfectant as well.
Thanks for your advise
I always found my BO was worse while breastfeeding no idea why but that's my experience.
I find my body gets used to the same deodorant after a while so I alternate between three, which I generally only need to use once or twice a day.
1. Thursday plantation tea tree roll on.
2. Sunkin natural spray
3. Redwin sports spray pump
All aluminum free i am pretty sure. And they all stop working after a week or two, so i have all three going and alternate between them all through out the week. Or ill use one for a few days and switch.
I've also used mitchium roll on which wasn't bad.
And generally I'll apply one of those three, and then I have the impulse sprays (just because they smell nice) and I apply that under my arms over the top, and on the clothing in the Pitt area.
Could be coincidence but this is my second child and Im pretty sure I smelt while breastfeeding my first as well. I don’t really remember having constant body odour outside of these times.
I might try switching up deodorants during the week. I find my body does get used to the same one after using for a little bit. I had a burning sensation using the Thursday plantation deodorant which was a shame because I liked the smell.
Thank you for your advise
I got some pretty bad burns from using powder and tea tree spray trying to keep areas dry from sweat. You have to be really careful with things like that, even though it's natural it's pretty dangerous on some ppl!
Where's the smell coming from ? Your breath? Armpits ? Between your legs?
Armpits
It could be hyperhidrosis. I suffer from it on my hands and feet , 42 years on , there is no cure . Botox is a short term solution . sounds like it could be that . A doctor will confirm if it is xx
A dr once said she gets her hubby Ditropan to stop his hyperhidrosis, even though it is for over active bladder app it works. Might be worth giving it a go.
Unfortunately doesn't work for my plantar and Palmar hydrosis 😥
Anxiety can cause really bad smell/sweats if u suffer from that might be worth looking into and seeing GP
There are some autoimmune and metabolic disorders that can cause bad BO by itself and/or bad BO from excess sweating.
Best to find out what the problems is at the doctors...the stress of having a baby can be the trigger for an autoimmune disorder to develop if it previously has not been a problem.
Have you tried bi carb soda mixed with coconut oil. This works for me and it natural and cheap.
Try using no pong, works brilliantly.
I can recommend No Pong as an aluminum free alternative. I signed up for their monthly club so automatically get sent a new tub every month. Worth a try!
It’s the deodorant you’re using (or lack thereof). You need to use a proper, clinical deodorant to stop the smell.
I get wanting to use natural products but I’m yet to find a deodorant without aluminium that actually works. I’ve tried No Pong, Black Chicken, Moogoo, Tea Tree Oil and the Crystal deodorants and none of them effectively control body odour.
I had the same issue in high school which was horrendous as you can imagine. I used a product called driclor that isn't sold here anymore but you can purchase on ebay from the UK. I used it every day for about a month, then once a week and then once every now and again. I haven't used it for about 13 years but it has still stopped my excessive sweating and to this day I no longer have problems.
No pong, I absolutely love it. I was rather skepticical at first, Initially i tried it in cooler months (Brisbane QLD) although it doesn’t stop me sweating but it does stop me smelling. Some ppl say they find they sweat less after a few months, not me tho. I also get my smelly 9yr old to use it too.
Also as some ladies has mentioned it could be your clothes smelling too.
