Sleep/waking up

Sleep/waking up

Does anyone else have this issue.
It does not matter if I go to sleep early or late..I can never wake up when my alarms go off. I could set 3 alarms, hide them around my room and I still manage to get up and snooze every single one of them and go back to sleep...my problem is, I don’t even remember doing it. I’ve had family try and wake me..when I finally come to they ask if they remember our conversation. I remember nothing!!! I have a son and often we are either late to school or I’ve woken up to find my mum has taken him..did my son try and wake me? I don’t even know. It scares me, what if something bad happens one day and here I am in my sleeping coma.
Can this be fixed? It’s becoming such an issue for me I don’t know what’s wrong with me.

Edit- I’ve been like this for I reckon the last 10 years. Only time I wasn’t was when my son was a baby and I was breastfeeding.

I’d be asking my GP for a referral to a sleep physician

I wonder if this is a form of narcolepsy or some other kind of sleep disorder?
It really does sound beyond the realms of normal.
I'd be asking for a referal to a sleep specialist most definitely at this point.

Just out of curiosity, what time do you naturally wake up, consiously that is?

It varies. So for the school week my goal is to be up at 6-6:30..but I usually don’t fully wake up until anywhere from 7:30-8:30.🤦🏼‍♀️
Weekends- my son has sport early on Saturday mornings so I try and get up from 6:30-7:30. Sometimes I won’t rise until 8 and we literally have a one hour rush to get ready and be at sport on time.
Sunday’s are our sleep in days and I usually get up about 9- if my partner lets me have a sleep in I could literally sleep until 1:00pm and I wake up feeling like hell even though I’ve had my alarm set for maybe 10.😩

Sounds like untreated sleep apnoea. Get a referral from ur gp to have a sleep study and another to sleep physician ASAP. Also u should avoid driving/ operating things til u sort this out. Good luck. If ur in Brisbane I can recommend some places.

I was like this before kids. Such a heavy sleeper. But also tired. I could shut off an alarm at seven because I could easily sleep past 12 if nowhere to be.
I changed out of necessity when I had babies up all hours and early morning and never changed back.
I wonder if you're sleeping properly at night. If you need to go to bed earlier, to arrange to get a good decent sleep in once a week or if you need to look into sleep apnea.
