How to relocate with a family

I need a change...I think?
How do people decide to make big life changes once they have kids?Total upheaval with new house, job, school etc. I cant see a future where I live as the cost of housing is rising so significantly. I will never be able to buy a home here. My landlord is elderly and always saying she will sell. If she does I doubt I can afford another rental unless my children and I share a room.
I suffer from anxiety. The fear of being homeless saw me sell 40% of our belongings and I purchased a larger car for the worst case scenario of having to live in it temporarily. I know this is fairly irrational, but it's where I'm at.
I have a great job that am I passionate about with hours and holidays that are a dream for parenting. The position rarely becomes available as the benefits are great. But it is demanding and over whelming at times.
How do people choose where to live and take the plunge of starting over?. My future here is unaffordable long term (13years until all children have completed schooling),my anxiety makes it hard to feel like a fun adventure finding somewhere new. If i make the wrong choice I cannot afford to come back here and have no family support, zero back up and little money.
I have no idea where to begin finding a new start!! Small town with job security.
Thank Mummas!!!

Have you looked into NRAS housing? You might not need to move.

You can’t run away from your head or anxiety. I would work on that first. I would look for work before you packed up and left Small towns can be very welcoming equally isolating depending on how you put yourself out there. Only know how you will cope
