Just had a Pap smear and it’s come that I have HPV the doctor said it’s low risk but I need to come back in 12 months and should clear up on my it’s own. So ok then I google it can lead to warts, cancer I am now freaking out, I feel lost and dirty embarrass. I have slept with two people my whole life one for 20 years and my bf now for 3 years and no I don’t think he is cheating! Has anyone gone thru this? Taken vitamins to help? Any info I just want to heal

It can lay dormant for many many years, so chances are a partner had it and wasn't correctly tested when you had unprotected sex and has passed it on.
I don't know much further than that sorry, but everything will be okay!
I was diagnosed with HPV last year also, only certain strains give you warts and cancer, there are 100s of strains, I have one of the ones that has a lower risk of cancer but not warts. I had a biopsy last year and it was all clear so have to have yearly paps also. It can lay dormant for many years before it shows up and 90% of people catch some strain of hpv in their lives and usually clears up on its own.
To add to what the others have said, they've changed the way Pap smears are done so I think many people are now finding they have the hpv strain because of better testing. It will clear up on its own
I had HPV quite bad over 15 years ago and had only slept with 2 people too but my new boyfriend had it and I had unprotected sex and contracted it. Every time I would have sex I would bleed and finally got the courage to get tested and I had HPV. I had to get a fair amount of my cervix cut way as they grew into cancer cells because I was too embarrassed to go to the doctors. I was told I wouldn’t be able to have kids but I went on to have 4. It’s not the end of the world it does go away, it’s alot more common than you think. If at any time you are concerned about it, go to the doctors.
It’s so incredibly common and you only have to sleep with one person to get an STD
I showed up with abnormal cells one time, went back in for the check up and everything normal and have have clear tests ever since. Don’t stress!
Pending on the strain it's from a partner ! I'm always on the swing about this I mean if you were with someone for 20 years and never and now you do could be that he had it unknowns to himself as it's not symptomatic in men ! Find out what strain it is first ! But if its 16 18 or 19 I think I would ask himself about his sexual history no doubht you got it from him, cheating maybe not but ya never know he may just not have know he had it and if it is a bad strain you need to watch your cervix like a hawk
I hate it when people get an STD and imply that only promiscuous or dirty people get them.
Geez are we living in the 1800s?
Anyone who has unprotected sex, even once runs the risk of getting one.
Unless you’re a virgin, you’re no better than anyone else and we’re all in the same boat.
An STD is just that from being promiscuous not dirty but if she has not had symptoms for 20 years then appears that's an issue ! Lots of people have unprotected sex and dont get stds this one in particular is only std if it is particular strain of HPV! So I'm going with he had it before her and he did not know ! Pending it's a bad one and if not I would be looking at cheating as there is no point not bringing it up! You do not just get hpv over night ! Her life is at risk if it is a bad strain and she needs to ask the big questions if not then yea she could have picked it up years ago and it lay dormant but if not then its him ! It is dirty people sleeping with people having STDs that cause this non excuse we are living in the 2000 people should know better!
Bicarbonate soda will clear it up! Squirt it up there and it will alkaline the environment. Go to a chemist to get the squirt devise and health food store for aluminium free bicarbonate soda, mix with ozone water.
I had my first positive test 1.5 years ago, I've been told to come back, positive again. I freaked out. Basically being on the cancer watch, that's how I felt. They gave me an appointment for a biopsy and they sent the piece in.
They told me that I have to have regular pep smeres now. But I was still worried.
I'm from Europe and I went to see a doctor there.
He did a test and my hpv test came back as 'no abnormalities' which the Australian doc proved not long after.
They explained it to me that it's sort of like an STD But they don't know Wether it has to be the recent partner to get it from or if it maybe was your partner from 10 years ago and it just evolved into that.
I understand you being worried but I have been explained that this means early detection, going every 12 months and checking up on it will keep you in a save loop of not getting anything more serious.
