So in August 2019, I turn 40. And I would like to lose approx 10 kilos. I ideally eventually would love to lose 30 kilos, which will take me back to my happy weight.
I'm going to the gym - 3x HIIT sessions a week. I can't however seem to get a handle on eating. Low Carb/Low Fat/ Atkins/Healthy Mummy/Duromine, I've tried everything and just not having any luck.
Please help IM's - it would make such a huge difference to me and my life in general.
if I was at a better weight I would be less susceptible to all the diseases that being over weight can increase your chances off.
Thank you!

As much fruit and veg and lean meats as you want/need to fill you.
Nothing from a packet, no processed foods. As much fresh food as possible.
Also look at your drinks. I always find if I cut out my drinks (I’m a sucker for Pepsi max and coffee) it makes a massive difference to just cut those down.
I also do intermittent fasting because my body really responds to it but not everyone agrees to kt
You could also try a Registered Dietitian. I found they really knew there stuff, they don’t sell fad diets that are not maintainable. I also found I saved a lot of money, compared to what I’ve wasted on a weight loss ‘program’
I've lost about 10 kg in the last 8 weeks or so and this is what I've been doing - a yopro yoghurt for breakfast (protein yoghurt), some watermelon and peach for morning tea, sandwich for lunch (egg and lettuce or some kind of meat), a quiche for afternoon tea and dinner is usually a smaller serve of what everyone else is eating (ie a small steak, some mash and veg) and another piece of fruit about 2 hours after dinner. I will also add a boiled egg or tuna if its going to be a while before the next meal. I found the more often I eat the less I CAN eat. Kinda like a 6 food a day diet. The best thing for you though is protein, it fills you up for longer. (I have more fruit as I can't handle a lot of protein right now). Good luck to you.
How much are you eating?
Yeah by all means cut out the crap food but eating too much of anything, even if it's healthy will make it difficult to lose weight.
Ask yourself if you are really hungry...and stop eating when you are not hungry anymore, not when you are full. There's a difference.
I started doing this a couple of years ago, lost 20kg over about a year and kept it off. I rarely stress or boredom or tired eat now. If i do, a couple of kg will creep back on, so I know i need to stop it. It's not what I eat that was the problem, it was how much.
Good luck.
I drink soup. I purée up really amazing veggies and beans then drink it. I do this as I will eat too much or the wrong foods. Once I eat/drink this I feel too full. I have started making better choices.
I’m in my 40’s and have 30kg to lose but I’d be happy with 15kg. I’ve gained through stress and menopause and health problems.
I over exercised and this produces cortisol and prevents weight loss. At our age you can’t uxercise like a 20yo.
I’ve started walking and weights. It’s doable life long not a short fix.
I also eat low carb - not keto and intermittent fasting. It’s what suits me. My body doesn’t like too much sugar, wheat, carbs or dairy.
I watched the magic pill and cereal killers for inspiration.
