What is a family tax benefit one off advance payment?
Is it like getting a loan from centrelink that you pay back with your family tax benefit?
We have just been slammed with bills and our bill account has been drained and we still have the car rego to pay. I'm feeling pretty embarrassed to even aak this, as its the first time we have ever been stuck with a bill we are struggling to pay!

Yes. You pay it back fortnightly over 6 months. In the app go into advance payments and it will tell you how much you can borrow and the repayments. However if you have a tax debt you won’t be able to get a FTB loan.
If you have the Centrelink app you can apply from your phone, a couple questions in and it will ask how much you can afford to pay back out of your ftb and it will give you an amount of how much you can get. I think the ftb advance is $1000 and it’s roug $80 pf to pay back
Yes you can get an extra payment now and they deduct it from your pays over the next x amount of weeks, for example $30 less a fortnight for 36 weeks until it's paid back.
OP: thank you for answering my question. X
