Weird Period TMI

I'm not expecting a diagnosis :) just wondering if anyone has had similar and if they think a trip to the gp would be a good idea..

I have a very "normal" period.. Each month at the same time, lasts between 5-7 days, not very heavy and usually one day of severe cramps..

I got my period last Wednesday (nearly two weeks early) and from Wednesday to Friday, it was really heavy. Heavier than I've ever had before. I don't usually have a heavy flow at all.. I even had a few little clots. No cramps though. So that lasted three days. Since Saturday, I haven't bled at all.

I feel fine, so I don't want to head 20 minutes into town to see a doctor if its nothing..

Any thoughts and advice will be greatly appreciated :)

I wouldn't go to the GP. My period used to be as regular as clock work and as I've aged, gained and lost weight and experienced stress I've noticed lots of one offs then would resume normal. Now that I am hitting 40 my period has changed the last 12 months and is totally unpredictable now! I'm off to see my GP to discuss early menopause (not that early for my family). If you continue to see lots of changes over a series of a few cycles it might be worth discussing then.
