Hi iv been on the pill for years but lately been having spotting in between periods iv tried all different ones. So now I'm thinking of getting an IUD put in as I'm not having another baby for a while. I'd like to hear from other mums about there experience with having an IUD. Like was it had to fall pregant after getting it taken out. I also suffer from deperession and am on medication to keep it under control. Thanks in advance..

I was recommended the Mirena as it can stop periods all together. Both my sisters have had one at one time or another. One it has worked really well for the other it was not worth keeping in. I decided to have tubes tied as I wasn't planning on having kids any way.
Personally, the mirena was great as you barely got a period. BUT.. There are still side effects, dependant on the person. Mine was a complete lack of sex drive. As in literally none.. For five years. It was horrible. I only just realised toward the end that is was because of the mirena and was so glad when it was gone!
