Feeling un-pretty!

Feeling un-pretty!

Is this a normal reaction? Don’t feel beautiful!

Towards the beginning of the year I fell sick lost a lot of weight an my hair.
I’ve never been a make up girly girl type, but I do like to look nice (put together) clean/casual.

Fast forward to now: I’ve beaten my sickness
The weight has come back in abundance lol and the hair in patches (head eyebrows lashes).
Told hubby I wanted to get my eyebrows feathered/microbladded and fake lashes (never had either done before) he lost his shit. Not about the money but didn’t understand why I’d want to do something like that. Reckons when he met me I wasn’t fake and I look beautiful regardless.

The thing is I don’t feel beautiful. I hate my hair, I look like a boy. Eyelashes there’s barely any and eyebrows have patches. I also hate the fact I’ve put the weight back on.
I cried when I lost all the weight because it didn’t look like me and I looked sick now it’s back on I cry because I look to fat, can’t win!

Yes I’m getting my health back and that’s the main thing, but I feel ugly. I know I need to get over myself as there are bigger problems in the world and my positive kick arse attitude is (I believe) what helped me beat my illness. But how the hell do I get over feeling un-pretty?

Oh lovely! I’m glad you’re better now.

Do not let your husband dictate to you how to look, he obviously loves you very much for who you are, not your looks! That is such a wonderful quality and so loving of him. You need to really explain to him that this is about making YOU feel better within yourself, not to impress anyone but because you aren’t feeling like the best you and that is something you feel is bringing you down in life.

If he still can’t understand then too bad so sad. You do what you need to to feel beautiful! If you have young kids, maybe don’t let them know so much you’re uncomfortable in your current looks as we want everyone to know they’re beautiful no matter what! I’m only mentioning that as hubby might be feeling the same

Thank you 😊

Yes if he doesn’t understand after the next conversation I’ll just do it anyway and see how long it takes for him to notice haha

Totally normal to feel like this when your body goes through transitions.

I was a swimming teacher, I was feeling quite naked.

I got perminant eyeliner done (top and bottom), I get my eye lashes lifted (I tint them at the time) now I'm not in the pool, I get my eye brows done with henna.

It just makes me feel tidy...hubby had/has no choice.
