Watering help!
I’m trying to get my grass green and keep it green but my rountine watering isn’t working!
How does everyone keep their grass green
I’ve looked online but the tips are vague
How often do you water and for how long?
I have been watering my lawn for the past 3 months every second day for 10mins per section and the only green parts are those under shade!
I have just a standard sprinkler
I have even tried grass feed and no difference
I live in town in Mareeba and there are no water restrictions that’s I know of
Thanks mums :)

Try urea! Brings my lawn up beautiful I put it on probably 3 or 4 times a year. Could also look at thatching where the lawn is basically cut very short to clean out the dead stuff underneath and the grass grows back very healthy and vigorously. Fertilize every Spring and Autumn.
Watering with a hose doesn’t do much unfortunately... what makes the grass go green is the nitrogen in rainwater 😊 Maybe there’s a nitrogen fertiliser or lawn feed available. It’s crazy how quick the lawn goes green after a good amount of rain 😊 There is no substitute to rainwater!
Thank you for your response I have tried weed and feed that contains nitrogen I s killing the weeds but minimal effect on the grass
I’m going to try watering abit longer later in the day and see if that works
The type of grass you have is a major factor
I don’t have buffalo grass just standard grass like everyone else
I’m
Not sure what it’s called
We have male sterile dwarf kykuyu (Not sure on spelling) its amazing we used roll out turf when we put it in. It was put in January this year. It didn't even die of or go brown it has been green and is lovely lush and green
