We live in Yamanto and love it. We are close to all the highways and still close enough to brisbane (30-40min to get to southbank) without all the traffic. We do get noise from the raaf base but its not all day long, it's only for certain times.
There are still some home in the area with larger lots (800+ m2).
My son starts prep next year so cannot answer the question about the school but the c&k kindy have been fantastic.
Thank you, that's great to know as I have a toddler still at home. My older girl will be in Prep next year too. I have looked at Yamanto already so will keep it in mind. Do you feel it's a safer suburb?
Yes i find that its safe we have been here 7 years and never had any issues there are a lot of older couples in the area of yamanto we live in.
Just keep away from booval, leichardt and redbank
Don't move to Ipswich ! It's a high crime/ drug area! Springfield would best suburb near by!
I've heard Springfield is nice but unfortunately my husband's new job is in Ipswich and we want to live local 🙂
There is a newish suburb i thinks its south ripley not too far from Ipswich that seems to be very family friendly.

Unfortunately every city has high drug and crime areas brisbane included. Ipswich has its bad suburbs and it also has good suburbs just like anywhere. We have never had issues here we actually had more issues living in the subrub annerley in brisbane with the house getting broken into and random people walking into our front yard.
Of course Annerley isn't great it's got alot of drug/ mental health issues. But come on you drive through to Ipswich from the Dinmore side and the suburbs are feral! The people are rough and tough....Ipswich city itself has junkies roaming the streets..it is a known place by most of Brisbane like Logan as the suburbs/ areas to avoid!
haha even there city council was all corrupt! They have all been fired....does that not say enough!
Most of the people I know that work at Ippy are based on the Eastern side of Toowoomba and commute. I couldn't drive up and down the range every day but they do it happily. One other bought a new home in an estate in the Regency Downs area to cut his travel time. The Warrego down that way is pretty good so a commute from any of the smaller satelite towns would be easy if you were looking for a country lifestyle.
