I have a 12 hour drive in 2 weeks. Things to entertain and make the drive easier for myself and my 2.5 y/o
I will be breaking the trip up and stopping when possible.
Thanks mummys

In car DVD player, colouring books toys
Snacks. And bring them out at times when they start cracking it. (I also used a lolly pop one trip because they last a while but mine were a bit older so not sure if that would be okay for your little)
Frequent stops to run around.
Kids music (Spotify have some playlists)
Books.
Once a year we do a 6000km round trip to see family interstate. Last one we did we had a 2.5 and 1 year old. We found leaving at 4:30 each morning worked well so the kids slept for a couple hours in the car then we'd stop for breakfast and break. The iPad is a life saver - I let them watch it as much as they like that trip. Books. Music and audiobooks. I also made a tray that flipped down and rested on their lap. Stock up on paper, stickers, stamps, pencils/crayons, water colours etc. Kmart has lots of crafts. I also bought new toys for the trip. A magnifying glass, binoculars and eye spy, kmart has magnetic people you can dress, bubbles, puzzles, depends what your child is interested in. And food, lots and lots of food. We found 2 hours was about the longest we could go before the kids needed a run around and we needed a break from driving anyway
Stickers are great. Big w have mosaics sets in the art section for ages 3+ but I found they worked well for my 2.5 year old on our recent trip. It was a PJ Masks theme if your little one is in to that. Textas and a drawing pad, felt boards that you create pictures with (I think Kmart sell them) or magnets on a baking tray. And lots of snacks ;)

Try and buy some new toys, puzzles, colouring in books and pencils, things they havent seen before so they dont become bored with them as quickly. Also download some apps for an ipad if you have one. Kids music for the ride too.
We do a 10hr trip every year.
We found leaving really early so they are sleeping most of the way.
We stopped for Breakfast about 6hrs in, let kids (14 months apart) run for 40mins.
Then again in another 2hrs.
Had back seat loaded up with pillows so nothing can drop on floor.
Bottle.....even though they were older...
Put in a stubby holder tied to car seat with a lanyard.
In a nappy...just in case!
(This saved us once! Our clutch broke with about 2hrs drive home...we had all highway driving only about 1km to our home was 1st of lights. Our boy was happy to sit in his wee, till we got home)
Tones of toys and books, etch a sketch.
Stach a few toys and pull them out later.
MIL gave kids Easter chocolate in their car seats as a treat....no don't do that...screaming hypo kid confined...we rang nanny and made her listen.
Our are now 9 year old and 8 year old we have survived 9 10 hour drives and a few 15hrs ones.
