Head tilt

Head tilt

My 7 year old sometimes leans his head and shoulders to the left when walking until I tell him to stand up straight. He might do it again once or twice in the next minute. Anyone know what could be going on. He doesn't do it all the time.

Honestly I've got a lot on my plate already. He needs a hearing test, speech pathology, tongue tie assessment, occupational therapy, eye therapy. All which needs to fit in between work and school. So was just getting ideas from other parents who's children have a similar problems so I know which of these specialists to talk to about it, if I should mention it to all of them, or see yet another specialist. I mention the wrong problem to one of them and they give me blank stares or treat me like I'm silly. Apparently I'm silly for even thinking his glasses have improved his co-ordination.

You could try asking the OT but a physio would probably be better. My son has a head tilt as a result of several bones in his neck not forming properly during pregnancy. Six months ago his orthopaedic specialist referred him to a physio to see if stretching the muscles in his neck would help him to hold his head straighter. I completely get how painful it is to see multiple specialists and allied health professionals (my son was seeing at least ten different people at our local children’s hospital at one point) but it’s definitely worth getting checked out.
