asperges in adults

I'm 27 yrs old and have struggled with life since day one. I was diagnosed with depression 8 years ago and things have improved but I still feel something is wrong. I have been working in child health since 2005 and I see all types of children with behavioral issues, and 1 type has really stood out. Aspergers.

Seeing these kids reminds me so much of me. I was not a good socialiser at school, preferring to hang out with older kid, Some days it's like I need a course in socialising.

I can't make eye contact with people I just meet, I love colour coding things, I struggle explaining my feelings and what I want, I'm immature for my age, I struggle a lot with intimacy, I'm ocd aswell There are lots more things I could add, but there isn't much space.

Are there any other adults out there who have been in a similar situation? What did you do

Google Tony Attwood. We are very spoilt in Australia to have a world expert on Aspergers in women. He has lots of reading material on his website. If you feel it fits go and talk to your GP. A good GP will find someone in your state who could take you through the diagnostic process. The process is tiring, a few hours of answering questions about yourself. Then a treatment plan is recommended. Go for it, it was the best thing I ever did.
