Police

Had a fight with my hubby and the cops were called, he hit me and then when the cops came he blamed it all on me and said I belted him up

The cops told me I was under arrest even tho I didn’t do anything!
The cop pulled out the cuffs and I freaked and resisted the cuffs, the cop tackled me to the ground and done the cuffs up as tight as they go and they hurt so much.

I got charged at the cop shop, how will I go about this without going to jail?

I know I shouldn’t have resisted the cuffs but I freaked out, should they have put me in the cuffs? Should the cuffs be that tight?
Who’s been in cuffs themselves?

The same thing has happened to me when I was married and in an abusive relationship like you are in except I didn’t resist, just went on my way. They let me drive away and I stayed at a hotel until the 24 hours was up. Maybe your reaction is what got you in handcuffs and all it did was prove your husbands point. You need to be smarter.

There was another post not long ago about being handcuffed and it hurting. I feel like this is just to see responses in comparison to that... pretty odd but yeah, no advice from me

If they put you under arrest and you resist your going to be handcuffed tight...

So much more importantly, you had a domestic and your partner sent you to jail. Fuck how tight the handcuffs were, youre living with domestic violence and situations that are just not ok. sort that issue out.

They should have put you in cuffs. If they arrest you, it’s standard procedure. Cuffs are tight because if they aren’t you can get out of them.

You should seek legal advice.

Cuffs are designed to be tight. No point if not. But it seems like this is he said she said right now. Get a lawyer.

Look, none of us can really pass judgement with these questions. It's a police matter, none of us were there to say if the actions that were taken were excessive or necessary.

My advice: Take a good, hard look at your life and relationship. Make some changes!

It sounds like it was a very serious fight for you to need to phone the police prior to him hitting you (the way it reads). It sounds like you were very scared for your life.

I have never been in cuffs myself nor do I ever want to be. It sounds like the police were right in arresting someone whether it be the right person or not (there's always three sides to a story - his, hers and the truth in this case).

I think you need to take a good hard look at your life and start questioning whether this is the toxic life for you and your kids to be around. If you need to, contact the appropriate agencies to find suitable housing and get yourself out.

What were you charged with? It sounds like youll be summoned
The prosecution might add a resisting arrest charge when you front a magistrate.
