Why can’t I sleep.

Why can’t I sleep.

I fall asleep, and I’ll wake every 30-45 minutes during the night. It’s been like
This the last 3 days with the longest stint being just over an hour. I have no idea why. My kids have slept at night fine for a very long time. Even when I am sleeping I feel like I’m not really sleeping at the same time
If that makes sense. I’m so exhausted during the day that I cry constantly because of how tired I am, but I just can not sleep. Nothing has changed in my normal day to day life. I did quit smoking nearly 2
Weeks ago but I’ve quit before and never had this outcome. Also been trying for a baby for only about a week or 2. I’ll go see my doctor if it doesn’t pass soon but any idea what it could be would be great. I don’t want to take anything because if a child does wake in the night, I need to be able to wake also.

Have you been taking anything to quit smoking (i.e. Champix or similar) or are you on any new meds? Keep in mind that quitting may be playing havoc with your body, as it is missing that nicotine hit. Are you struggling with anxiety or is your mind racing when you're awake? Or are you just awake?

Try some mediation apps (I love Calm, and they have these things called Sleep Stories which is 20 mins or so of someone reading a story in a very calm voice - seriously hypnotic!!), essential oils in a vapouriser, a warm bath or drink before bed. Eliminate blue light - no tv, no phone in the bedroom. Keep a notepad and pen beside your bed if you find your mind is racing. Write it all down and let it go x

Good luck

You need to see a good naturopath. Get magnesium for serotonin to melatonin conversion from a naturopath or look for bioceuticals st chemists it's behind the counter and an adrenal complex for sleep maintenance with Withania which addresses the constant waking with likely cortisol issues.
Also ensure wifi off in the house at night and phone on aeroplane mode to decrease emfs. Also limit any screen time before bed the blue light stops your melatonin rise to get into a deep R.E.M. sleep.
