My son is 4 turning 5 in April.
I have kept him back in kindy as recommended by his teacher because he is still behind in speech.
When he makes no sense or says a word incorrectly I pull him up, but it’s like he has a mental block and just disengages and ignores me. I have had him going to a speech pathologist (had about 6 sessions so far) and 3 child psychologist appointments).
I’m getting frustrated and worried now. How do I get him to overcome a mental block? Has anyone else had this problem?

Have him assessed and diagnosed correctly. Then have therapy with a speechy who specialises.
Sounds like you need to understand it more and therefore you will learn how to best help and support him.
Keeping his self esteem in tact is vital! Until you learn more, can you please please please just focus on all his strengths and praise him for what he’s good at. My sons hated being corrected
