Last night while doing my daughter's hair(11) I saw a nit. Off to the shower to wash and comb her hair. I find it easier to comb it while she's in the shower. Ended up with about 6. She also had them twice last year too.
I'm pissed Off!!!! It's not about the nits though we do know they're a pain in the ass it's the fact that ppl aren't letting the school know their kids have/had them. No one is saying you have to walk through the school with a bullhorn shouting it out just quietly let the office know so notes can be sent home and we can start preparing. The other 2 times she had them it was me who told the school but obviously they had been around for a week or 2.
Grrrrrrrrrr.

That annoys me too!
They hide well. Chances are no parent knows straight away. If you found 6 then they have already had a cycle so she's had them a week or more. I've honestly never met a parent who hasn't treated them or decided not to tell the school so that their child kept getting them again and again.
My step sons grandparents don't treat them, they kid has nits falling off his head. I treat him every time he comes over.
So there are people who just ignore it.
Yeah, my MILs 2 daughters constantly had lice. She was too lazy to treat them properly, if she did "treat" them, it was a run over with the clippers 😢
It's not common but some people truly don't care!
That's a bugger. Have you contacted the school this morning to let them know?
The lack of notices doesn't bother me, it's the parents who knowingly send their kids to school with nits (or the tail end of gastro or the flu etc).
It's frustrating as hell but you just have to accept that some parents aren't as diligent or considerate as they should be!
