Hi IM, i'm after any advice about Brisbane good areas to live not so good areas to live, schools, job situations anyone that lives in Brisbane please share your wealth of knowledge with me. We are wanting to make the move at the end of this year and I would like to have time to plan out and organise everything without the rush or pressure of having to pick something. I've heard employment is hard to find in Brisbane is this true? I work in admin in the health sector.

I think ur line of work prob wouldnt be a problem...there are alot of major hospitals u could apply at.
Avoid Ipswich, Logan & Caboolture areas.... Springfield & Mt Ommaney areas are nice family friendly areas with good schools and shops around 15- 20km from the cbd and about 45mins - 1 hour to the Gold Coast.
Having lived in Brisbane for almost 30 year this is my opinion
Bad areas: Logan, Inala, Caboolture, Wynnum, Mt Gravatt
Good areas: Runcorn, Samford, Kangaroo Point, Forest Lake, Fig Tree Pocket
Good luck with your move :)
I live in algester calamvale sunnybank hills area
Absolutely love it. 30min to city hour to the gold coast. Trains and buses galore. Sunnybank hills school is lovely so is algester and calamvale i know people who have kids at all 3.
I also work in health. Its a competitive industry and not always the best paying in big private companies. Id jump on seek and have a look. In saying that i work in radiology admin and love it. There are heaps of jobs out there. Just be aware alot of the Queensland health (public) are temp/contract work.
Brisbane is not much cheaper than any other major city just be aware rent and house prices are up there unless you go to logan ipswich - i personally would stay away from logan or flag stone or yarrabillba they are cheap rentals for a reason.
