Ladies I am wondering how do you put your baby's to sleep and how long does it take?
Any great tips or tricks you have discovered over the years?
Any book recommendations?
I have a 3 month old and he takes forever to put down. Even if I get him right on time once I see his tired signals, he can still take 30min to 1.5 hours. At night he takes 1 to 2 hours. He sleeps great at night once asleep so it is not the amount of sleep.
I rock him but it is getting harder and harder to settle him. He won't even breastfeed to sleep any more.
It is stressing me out as he has the worst timing. He wants to go down for a nap always about 45min before I have to leave the house to do school run or swimming etc for my other two kids.
He won't have a bar of the carrier if he is tired so I can't wear him around while I get the other two ready. He just wants to be wrapped up tight and me to hold him in the cradle position rocking. Anything less he will scream and get upset. I wish I could pop him in the car to sleep like my other two but if he is tired he cracks up and crys.
A couple of times I have succeeded in popping him in the cot drowsy and he has nodded off but generally he will go to major scream town in 5min even if I am shhh and patting etc.
I need tips as he will be rolling soon and I won't be able to swaddle any more. If I don't swaddle it is a nightmare at the moment as he is a very wriggly baby. He is in non stop motion until the second he falls asleep.

You can get a sling carrier that holds him in that position, it works because its how they want to be, just make sure his face has air, not covered.
Best thing I ever purchased before bub’s was a little CD player and a couple of the baby sleep CDs from Target. Turn that on and they just know it’s bedtime :-) I can’t lie and say I didn’t love to have a nap to it via the baby monitor myself a few times ha ha... Another thing my that really relaxed and calmed my daughter was a small massage with moisturiser before bed at night. Trick is to make it every day/night and part of a routine so that these things trigger them to recognise what’s next :-)
I'm in the same situation, day sleeps are non existent unless I pop a movie on and snuggle him the entire time. I've found he sleeps well when in the care of others though. We have quiet time before bed, so we read a book, look at some teddies, listen to some soft music and then have a big cuddle/rock. He then goes into his sleeping bag and is generally calm enough to have a feed and fall off to sleep. Without the feed though there's no hope he will sleep :(
